5 Kiwi Fashion Bloggers You Should Follow In 2017

When it comes to fashion, it seems these New Zealand-based bloggers know what’s up. To coincide with the launch of All The Dresses in New Zealand, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite Kiwi bloggers to follow in 2017.

Warning: you may get serious wardrobe envy – we know we did!

1. Kristen Gou // Skirts and Squats

Model, stylist, photographer and full-time fashion addict Kristen Gou has become an Insta-goddess almost overnight. Starting out in October 2016, she combines stylish trends with fitness and travel on her blog Skirts and Squats, giving her followers an insight into what it’s like to be a dedicated fashionista in Auckland. This trendsetter catches our eye with her ability to heighten a simple piece of clothing into something more, adding a personalised edge every time. She likes to experiment with a range of styles including 80s chic, feminine florals, or 90s grunge, which she breaks down for her inspired readers who are keen to spruce up their wardrobe. She isn’t afraid to play around with vibrant and lush colours, like her daring over-the-knee, fiery red boots, that not many could pull off.

If you’re looking to see more than just fashion, then head on over to her Travel, Fitness and Food pages, where she invites us to follow her adventures in Auckland or around the world. Her latest trip to Fiji will have you wanting to pack your bags for a tropical getaway.

Kristen has worked with a bunch of local and international brands and has appeared on the cover of New Zealand’s most popular Chinese-language publication, Most Wanted Magazine. Follow Kristen Gou at @skirtsandsquats or check out her blog here.

2. Kendra Jeffery // Stolen Inspiration

Kendra Jeffery (also known as Kendra Alexandra on Instagram) has grown into one of New Zealand’s most reputable fashion bloggers after creating her blog Stolen Inspiration in 2009. She’s like a Kiwi Carrie Bradshaw with her youthful look and cool and collected street-style outfits that are all about mixing affordable pieces with high-end brands to achieve a style that any one can pull off, no matter the price tag.

Kendra brings a fun yet minimal flair to her outfits that are shot against picturesque surrounds of Dunedin (NZ) and Sydney. Traveling between both places, she takes her readers on a visual journey with her rich images that combine fashion and lifestyle, while showcasing an array of popular eateries and bars along the way for all the foodies out there.

Stolen Inspiration has worked with some impressive leading brands, including Adidas, Converse and Pandora, which has led to Kendra amassing global interest. She was flown over to NYC with Impulse to experience ‘Scents in the City’ – an all girls trip featuring 5 of the most influential fashion bloggers. 3. Nami and Pascale // Serendipity Ave

These two besties have built an Instagram empire with over 15,000 followers and an established presence online and in the fashion scene. Nami and Pascale currently reside in New Zealand and continue to showcase their style through vivid visual diaries that promote their love for street-style and the ‘serendipity’ that exists in fashion. They’re all about putting bits and pieces together and tend to go with a more intuitive and mood-focused approach to styling outfits. The word serendipity means a ‘happy accident’ or an occurrence of events by chance that lead to a positive result, which is what fashion is all about!

These girl bosses have been featured in a number of publications including New Zealand Apparel, NZ Herald and M2woman, among others. Their Instagram account is like a feast for the eyes, with different shots boasting their personalised look that can’t really be pinpointed. They create a fusion of timeless trends that doesn’t only keep eager fans wanting more, but continues to bring new followers to their much-loved blog, Serendipity Ave.  Follow them on Instagram here: @serendipity.ave.

4. Kate Wilson // The Backroad Blog

This Kiwi proud blogger is a little different from the usual city chick fashionista that we’re so accustomed to. Living and working in rural New Zealand, Kate Wilson uses the backdrop of her beautiful remote scenery as an inspiration for many of her outfits and overall style. Her agricultural setting and education in Agricultural Science at university has influenced her obsession with all things wool and fashion production, evident throughout her garments and social media posts.

What we love most about Kate’s profile is her effortless style that seems so natural and free, just like the organic landscape that she’s so passionate about, giving fans a fresh take on fashion blogging.

Kate has been featured in the Otago Times, NZ Girl, The Campaign of Wool, and Country Wide Magazine, among others. Although Kate is an emerging blogger with around 3,400 followers, there’s no doubt she will attract thousands more very soon. Give her profile a visit at @thebackroadblog or The Backroad Blog.
